Lewisham Stabbing Shocker: A man in his 30s was rushed to hospital after being stabbed near Forster Park.

Police Rush to Scene in Longhill Road Stabbing

At about 6:30pm on Friday, April 4, the Metropolitan Police were called to Longhill Road following reports of a fight between two men. Officers arrived alongside the London Ambulance Service to find the victim with stab wounds. Paramedics treated him at the scene before taking him to hospital, where his injuries were confirmed as non-life-changing and non-life-threatening.

Hackney Man Arrested Over Lewisham Stabbing

A 56-year-old man from Hackney was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent at the scene. He remains in police custody as detectives dig deeper into the attack.

“Around 18:30hrs on Friday, 4 April, officers attended Longhill Road, Lewisham, following reports of an altercation between two men. Upon arrival, they found a man in his 30s suffering from stab wounds. He was taken to hospital where his injuries were assessed as non-life-changing and non-life-threatening,” a Metropolitan Police spokesperson said.

Community on Edge After Park Attack

Local residents expressed shock. The Forster Park area is usually peaceful.

“It’s worrying to hear about violence so close to home. I hope the police presence will reassure the community,” said one concerned neighbour.

Police Launch Appeal for Witnesses

The Met is urging anyone with info, or who filmed the incident on CCTV or dashcam, to come forward. Call 101 quoting the incident, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
