Shock in Barrhead: Man and Dog Targeted in Hit-and-Run Attack
Late Friday night horror unfolded in a Barrhead car park when a man was deliberately rammed by a car. The victim suffered leg and back injuries and was rushed to Royal Alexandra Hospital. Tragically, his dog was killed instantly.
Brutal Attack at Stormyland Way
The incident took place around 10.30pm on 18 March at a car park near Stormyland Way. After an altercation, a black four-door car was driven straight at the man on purpose. The driver then sped off, leaving devastation behind.
Driver Hunt Underway
The suspect is described as:
- White male
- About 5ft 7ins tall
- Aged between 52 and 55
- Slim build with shaved head
- Wearing a dark jumper
- Spoke with a local accent
Police believe the car may have been similar to a Nissan Note.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
“This was a deliberate act that caused injuries to the dog walker and killed his dog and we are appealing to anyone in the area at the time who may have seen what happened to get in touch,” said Detective Constable Sarah-Lee MacFarlane.
“If anyone has dash-cam footage or saw this vehicle, please contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 4043 of Friday, 18 March, 2022. You can also report anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
The hunt continues for the reckless driver responsible for the savage hit-and-run. Police urge anyone with information to come forward immediately.
