A person has died after falling overboard from a cruise ship close to the Channel Islands in the early hours of Saturday, October 12.
Drama Unfolds with Massive Rescue Operation
The French coastguard received a distress call just after midnight, sparking a huge rescue mission. A French navy helicopter, RNLI lifeboat, and a Channel Islands air search plane all joined the frantic search.
The coastguard’s helicopter found the individual and airlifted them from the water. Sadly, medical teams declared the person dead at the scene.
