£100k Cash Haul in Major Anti-Money Laundering Sting!

Big Bust in Oldham

Police pulled off a midnight jackpot yesterday, seizing a whopping £100,000 in cash during a targeted crackdown on organised crime and money laundering.

At around 11.30pm on 11 July, GMP’s Money Laundering Team and Specialist Operations stopped a vehicle in Oldham. A 29-year-old man was promptly arrested on suspicion of money laundering.

Operation Falcon Strikes Again

The car search uncovered the huge cash stash stuffed into a bag. This haul is part of Operation Falcon, a sharp new initiative launched just a month ago to tackle money laundering networks across Greater Manchester.

Cracking Down on Crime

  • Operation Falcon aims to hunt down money launderers and disrupt wider organised crime.
  • So far, four arrests have been made.
  • The team has already seized over £320,000 in illicit funds.

With this latest swoop, GMP is hitting criminals where it hurts – right in the wallet.
