Drug dealer nabbed and jailed after Brent Gangs Unit crackdown
Romarne Young, 24, from Stafford Road, Brent, has been locked up for three years after being caught with crack cocaine and heroin.
Sneaky blue Audi sparks police stop
On 27 August at around 7.40pm, officers on patrol in Kilburn spotted a blue Audi acting suspiciously on Albert Road. When they pulled the car over, Young was inside clutching two mobile phones.
A search of the vehicle revealed cocaine hidden under the driver’s seat. The driver tried to make a run for it but was quickly detained. A search found cannabis concealed in his mouth and a mobile phone.
Text messages expose drug supply ring
Checks on both men’s phones revealed texts related to drug dealing. Both were arrested and charged with supplying drugs.
Detective Constable Jo Trist of the Brent Gangs Unit said, “I am pleased with the sentence given. Young played a significant role in the supply of drugs across London. I hope the sentence handed down will give him adequate time to reflect on his criminal activity.”
Accomplice cops quick jail for cannabis possession
The 24-year-old driver was charged with obstructing a search and possession of cannabis. He was sentenced to eight weeks behind bars at Hendon Magistrates’ Court on 29 August.
