Teen Stabbed to Death in Islington: Jamaly Samba Baibu Named as Victim
Detectives have identified the teenager fatally stabbed in Islington last Tuesday night as Jamaly Samba Baibu. The 16-year-old tragically died at the scene after a stabbing on Seward Street at 10.33pm on 20 December.
Two Boys Attacked, One Dead, One Injured
Police arrived to find two 16-year-old boys suffering stab wounds. Despite desperate first aid from officers and London’s Air Ambulance medics, Jamaly was pronounced dead at the scene. The second boy was rushed to an east London hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Detectives Plead for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
Homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command have launched a full investigation. No arrests have been made yet. Detective Chief Inspector Kate Kieran urged witnesses to come forward urgently:
“Jamaly had his whole life ahead of him. Our thoughts are with his family as they come to terms with this terrible loss. We will do all we can to support them.”
“If you were near Seward Street or Central Street on the night and saw or heard anything unusual, please contact us. Especially if you have dashcam footage, this could be crucial.”
“We also want to speak to members of the public who helped the boys after the attack but haven’t yet come forward.”
