The family of missing British teenager Noiya Sharabi has confirmed the heartbreaking news that she, along with her 13-year-old sister Yahel and their mother Lianne, fell victim to a Hamas attack on Kibbutz Be’eri in southern Israel. Noiya’s British-born mother was killed in the assault.
Noiya, 16, and Yahel went missing following the tragic events of the Hamas attack on Kibbutz Be’eri on October 7. The family formally identified Noiya after weeks of uncertainty. The girls’ father Eli is still missing, and other relatives have reportedly been kidnapped.
The family shared their grief with the BBC, describing Noiya as “clever, sensitive, fun, and full of life.” Her smile, they said, “lit up the room like a beacon.” The sisters had been inseparable, engaging in various activities around the kibbutz and enjoying moments with their British cousins.
Noiya’s family highlighted her positive qualities, noting her passion for helping others, especially those less fortunate. She was recognised as a gifted student and linguist, leaving a lasting impact on those around her. The family expressed both heartbreak at her untimely departure and gratitude for the time they had with her.
