Police Seal Off Portsmouth Home After Bloody Assault
Serious Crime Shakes Quiet Portsmouth Street
Officers have sealed off a home on St Mary’s Road, Portsmouth, just yards from Newbridge Junior School, following a serious assault late on Thursday night (29th June).
Scene of Crime officers have been combing the property since 9am, wearing gloves and forensic suits as they carry out a thorough search. Two police officers stand guard outside the semi-detached house alongside a police vehicle.
Body Bag and Blood Marks Seen at Scene
Neighbours reported seeing police break down the front door late Thursday, with large blood smears still visible on the damaged black door. Local witness Lee Hathi described the grim scene: “I saw a body bag being taken from the property last night. It was shocking.”
Two Women Arrested in Ongoing Investigation
Hampshire Police have yet to release full details but confirmed that the Major Crime Investigation Team is handling the case. A police spokeswoman said: “A 35-year-old woman from Portsmouth and a 33-year-old woman from Fratton have been arrested in connection with the incident.”
