Teen Busted with Sawn-Off Shotgun in London Taxi

Shakeer Bentamoune-Wilson, 18, from Tangley Grove, Roehampton, has been charged after police found a firearm in his possession during a taxi stop in south west London.

Firearm and Ammo Found in Taxi

Officers stopped the taxi on York Road, SW11, at around 10.45pm on Wednesday, 8 April. Inside, they discovered Bentamoune-Wilson carrying a plastic bag containing a sawn-off shotgun and cartridges.

Facing Serious Charges

  • Possession of a prohibited weapon with intent to endanger life
  • Possession of ammunition with intent to endanger life
  • Possession of herbal cannabis

Bentamoune-Wilson was arrested and taken to a south London police station. He is due to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 11 April.
