Early Morning Home Invasion Sparks Arrests

Police rushed to a Cliftonville home at 3.40am on Wednesday 24 July after reports that three men broke in and threatened two residents on St Paul’s Road.

The intruders demanded money, and one victim was assaulted before the suspects fled in a car.

Victim Treated and Released

Officers arrived promptly, taking a man to a local hospital for treatment. He has since been discharged.

Three Men Arrested and Charged

A joint investigation by Kent and South Yorkshire Police led to the arrest of two men. They were charged on Friday 26 July and appeared at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court that same day. Both were remanded in custody and are due at Sheffield Crown Court on 23 August.

The following day, a third man, 24-year-old Mahammed Ahmed from East London, was charged with robbery, possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear, and possession of an offensive weapon.

Ahmed appeared at Margate Magistrates’ Court on Monday 29 July. He was remanded in custody and is set to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on 27 August.
