Man Charged with Attempted Murder After Soldier Stabbed in Gillingham
Detectives have charged a man with attempted murder following the serious stabbing of a soldier in Gillingham.
Police Called After Stabbing in Sally Port Gardens
Kent Police were called to Sally Port Gardens at around 5:55pm on Tuesday, 23 July 2024. The victim, a man in his 40s, suffered stab wounds and was rushed to hospital. His condition is now serious but stable.
Suspect Arrested Near Rochester Home
Anthony Esan, 24, was arrested near his home on Mooring Road, Rochester, just 35 minutes after the attack at around 6:30pm. He faces charges of attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
Next Court Appearance Scheduled
Esan is due to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 25 July.
