Paedophile Gamer Jailed Over Sick Online Abuse of Boys
A pervert who preyed on boys aged 11 and 13 through online gaming has been locked up for over four years.
Sanby’s Sickening Crime
Sanby was arrested in July 2020 after sexually explicit chats with an 11-year-old surfaced. During police questioning, he admitted he’d also targeted a 13-year-old.
He made contact with both victims via popular online games before grooming them with vile messages.
Serious Charges and Sentence
- Engaging in sexual communication with a child
- Causing a child to engage in sexual activity
- Making indecent images of children
- Two breaches of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order
Sanby has been behind bars since his arrest and was sentenced to 4 years and 4 months in prison. He is also subject to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order to keep him away from children.
Warning from Police
“If your kids are into online gaming it is really important that you know who they are speaking with,” said Detective Chief Inspector David McKean.
“Sanby used gaming to start conversations before communicating with his victims in a depraved manner.”
“Our focus has been on safeguarding the boys and bringing Sanby to justice, and our communities are now safer for this conviction.”
