County Lines Crackdown: Multiple Drug Dealers Busted in Kent
Kent Police’s County Lines and Gangs Team have been busy hitting hard on drugs networks in the region this year.
- In January 2022, a phone linked to the notorious ‘Mikey’ line was seized in Margate, aiding police in tracking heroin and crack cocaine deals.
- Courtney Cann, 28, of Beechfield Road, Catford, was caught on CCTV using the phone to coordinate drug deals. He was arrested on March 11, admitted involvement, and was swiftly sentenced at Canterbury Crown Court.
- Aaron Clark, 26, with no fixed address, was charged over the ‘Koby’ line in Medway for dealing heroin and crack cocaine.
- Jannai Johnson, 25, from Aylesford, faced charges related to the ‘Ritchie’ line for supplying and possessing crack cocaine and heroin.
- Investigations into the ‘Milo’ line in Ramsgate led to the arrest and bail of a 42-year-old woman, a 40-year-old woman, and a 17-year-old boy.
Police Vow to Smash County Lines Drug Gangs
Detective Chief Inspector Matthew Talboys of the County Lines and Gangs Team warned: “The same people involved in county lines are often linked to violent and acquisitive crimes across Kent. We are determined to disrupt these gangs at every turn and prosecute their members.”
He praised the team’s work in tracking and arresting dealers like Cann, stressing the importance of taking dangerous drug networks off the streets to protect communities and families from the devastation drugs cause.
