Tragic Hit-and-Run Victim William Brown Jr’s Funeral to be Livestreamed with Royal Blessing

Family Spreads Message of Love and Forgiveness

The devastated parents of seven-year-old William Brown Jr, who lost his life in a suspected hit-and-run, are preparing to livestream his funeral tomorrow. They want to share their son’s powerful message of love and forgiveness with as many people as possible.

King Grants Special Permission for Historic Funeral

William will be laid to rest at The Church of St Mary and St Eanswythe in folkestone/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Folkestone. This special arrangement was only made possible after His Majesty the King personally granted permission, lifting a centuries-old ban on burials at the historic graveyard.

The service kicks off at 2 pm and will be broadcast live on KentOnline. Large screens outside the church will ensure mourners can join in and pay their respects.

Funeral Procession Honors Football-Loving Boy

William’s funeral procession will start near his father’s home on Sapper Row and proceed along Sandgate Esplanade, near his mother’s residence, before reaching Folkestone church. A horse-drawn carriage decked out in Manchester United colours – his beloved football team – will carry William to his final resting place.

Father’s Plea: “Come Together to Celebrate Will”

Remembering his son’s warm heart and forgiving nature, Mr Brown Sr urged the community to attend the funeral. “William would’ve invited everyone to his funeral,” he said. “It’s important to us that we do Will proud and spread his message of togetherness.”

“Maybe you make new friends at the funeral, or maybe you can reach out to someone. Hug someone and show some love. That’s what Will would want. So please make sure you attend. It’s appreciated.”

Ongoing Police Investigation

A 49-year-old man was arrested in Dymchurch nearly 24 hours after the fatal crash. He faces multiple charges including causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene. He remains on bail until March 6 as the investigation continues.
