Tragic: Horse Killed in Van Crash on Hampshire’s B2150
A horse has been killed after being hit by a van on a quiet Hampshire road this morning.
Crash on Rural Road Between Droxford and Hambledon
The collision took place on the B2150 between Droxford and Hambledon. Two horses were reported running loose on the road before the crash.
One horse was struck by a van and died instantly at the scene. The other horse escaped without injury and was taken in by a nearby resident.
Van Driver Unhurt as Vehicle Sustains Heavy Damage
The van driver walked away unscathed, but the vehicle was badly damaged in the impact.
Police rushed to the scene and warned motorists to drive carefully while the incident was cleared.
Police Statement and Ongoing Investigation
“We were called at 7.24am to a report of a collision involving a horse and a car on the B2150 in Hambledon this morning,” said a Hampshire Police spokesperson.
“Sadly the horse died at the scene. No other injuries have been reported.”
Officers are now investigating how the horses ended up loose on the carriageway.
