Knife and Drugs Sting Shuts Down Peterborough Duo
Two men were caught red-handed with knives and class A drugs in Peterborough’s Orton Centre late on 16 December. Police swooped on William Black, 47, and Samuel Stewart, 42, around 11:15pm after spotting them loitering suspiciously.
Knives and Crack: What Police Found
Black, with no fixed address, had a large knife tucked into his waistband. Officers also seized 202 wraps of crack cocaine and heroin from him.
Stewart, from Hinchcliffe, Orton Goldhay, was found with a rucksack containing pliers, a metal rod, and a Stanley knife.
Harsh Sentences for Peterborough Pair
At Peterborough Crown Court on 29 January, Black pleaded guilty to possession of an offensive weapon and possession with intent to supply heroin and crack cocaine. He was jailed for two years and six months.
Meanwhile, Stewart admitted carrying a bladed article in public. On 22 January at cambridge/" title="Cambridge" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Cambridge Magistrates’ Court, he was sentenced to six months and one week in prison.
Police say the arrests send a strong message against knife crime and drug dealing in Peterborough.
