Shock in Leeds: A 38-year-old man under counter-terrorism scrutiny after a crossbow and gun attack has died in hospital, police confirmed.

The suspect, identified as Owen Lawrence from Leeds, was arrested following a terrifying assault on Saturday, April 26. Two women, aged 19 and 31, were seriously injured in what police describe as a brutal attack involving a crossbow and firearm.

West Yorkshire Police rushed to Otley Road, Headingley after reports of a man wielding weapons. Officers found Lawrence with serious self-inflicted injuries at the scene. Despite emergency medical treatment, he later died in hospital.
The two female victims were also taken to hospital. Their injuries are serious but not life-threatening, police say.
Counter-Terrorism Investigation Underway
Lawrence’s attack is being probed by Counter Terrorism Policing North East. Authorities have yet to confirm if there was a terror motive behind the assault.
“The suspect, Owen Lawrence, was detained at the scene with a self-inflicted injury and has now died. We continue to support the victims and their families at this difficult time,” said a West Yorkshire Police spokesperson.
