Man Charged with Murder in Fatal Chingford Stabbing

A man has been charged with murder after 26-year-old Tyler Hayward was fatally stabbed outside a Wetherspoon’s pub on Chingford Mount Road last Sunday night (6 July).

Murder Charge Made After Dramatic Ferry Arrest

Peshman Ahmedi, 22, of no fixed address, was formally charged with murder on Thursday. He is due to appear in custody at Willesden Magistrates’ Court later today.

The fatal attack happened at 9:14pm outside the pub. Paramedics rushed to the scene, but Tyler was pronounced dead there and then.

Police launched a major investigation that included a dramatic operation on Tuesday, 8 July. Officers stopped a DFDS ferry returning to the Port of dover/" title="Dover" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Dover and arrested Ahmedi on board after extensive enquiries.

Crime Scene Sealed Off for Three Days

Chingford Mount Road was sealed off for three days as forensic teams and detectives combed the area. A blue and white forensic tent stood near the scene while police appealed for witnesses and CCTV footage to come forward.

Police Urge Witnesses to Step Forward

The Metropolitan Police Specialist Crime Command are still investigating and urge anyone who was nearby or has dashcam or CCTV footage to get in touch.
