Harlow Murder Probe after Pedestrian Death
A murder investigation is underway following the death of 26-year-old Arlind Xhokola in a fatal collision near Momples Road, Harlow. The tragic crash happened around 5.30pm on Saturday, 29 March when a vehicle hit Arlind, who sadly died at the scene despite emergency efforts.
Family Pays Heartfelt Tribute to Arlind
Arlind’s family described him as an “easy-going and much-loved” man who touched the lives of everyone around him. They said:
“He was a very friendly, supportive person who would do anything for anyone. Arlind wanted to help everyone. Friends and family counted on him for support.
“He was mellow, relaxed, and patient. Respected and loved by many, he will be deeply missed. His death is a shock to us all, but it has brought us closer as a community. We are united in our grief, holding onto the memories we share.”
His girlfriend added:
“He was lovely and family-oriented from a young age. Arlind worked in construction to support his family and often spoke about wanting to create a family of his own. He was always there for everyone.”
Serious Crime Directorate Launches Investigation and Makes Five Arrests
The Serious Crime Directorate is leading the inquiry, investigating links between the collision and a robbery of a Ford Fiesta in Pennymead, Harlow at around 4pm the same day.
- Jeremy Heath, 50, from Ladyshot, Harlow, has been charged with murder, robbery, and knife possession. He remains in custody ahead of his Chelmsford Crown Court hearing on 3 April.
- On 1 April, three men from Harlow were arrested:
- Two men, aged 39 and 50, held on suspicion of robbery and murder.
- A 42-year-old arrested for assisting an offender has since been released under investigation.
- A 37-year-old Harlow man was detained on 2 April on suspicion of robbery and murder and remains in custody.
Police say no other suspects are currently being sought.

Detective Inspector James Holmes, leading the case, said:
“This was a complex incident requiring patience and hard work from my team and colleagues across the force. Key arrests have been made and we’re not looking for anyone else in connection with this investigation.
“We are determined to uncover what happened and why — to give answers to Arlind’s family and the people of Harlow, who are rightly concerned.”
Neighbourhood policing officers continue to patrol Harlow, offering reassurance to residents.
DI Holmes added:
