A murder probe is underway after a 62-year-old man died following a savage attack in Southwark.
Brutal Assault in Maddock Way
Police were called to Maddock Way at 1:15pm on Thursday, 20 November after reports of a violent fight. Officers found Michael Burrows with a serious head injury. He was rushed to hospital but sadly died two days later on Saturday, 22 November.
Family Mourns ‘Rock’ Taken Too Soon
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of our dear father, our hearts are forever broken. He was our rock,” said the Burrows family. “Our dad was a funny, charismatic and loyal gentleman who had a heart of gold. He lit up every room and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. We love you dad, may the angels watch over you.”
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command are leading the hunt for answers. Detective Chief Inspector David Whellams said:
“This was a senseless and shocking act of violence that has left a much-loved father dead. We understand the concern this will cause in the community. Our dedicated homicide team is working hard to uncover what happened.
“If you saw anything or have any information, please come forward. Your help is crucial.”
