Fugitive Marcus Coates on the Run After Prison Escape

Marcus Coates, linked to London and Kent, has gone missing after fleeing HMP Leyhill in Gloucestershire. The 54-year-old was last spotted near Bristol Bus Station early Thursday morning.

Police Issue Urgent Warning: Don’t Approach Coates

Avon and Somerset Police urge the public not to confront Coates. Instead, call 999 immediately if you see him. A police spokesperson said:

“We’re asking the public to call us if they see Marcus Coates who absconded from HMP Leyhill.”

  • Appearance: White male, blue eyes, receding mousey brown hair
  • Tattoos: His name and a rose on left hand; a heart and West Ham FC on right arm; female’s name across right hand knuckles
  • Clothing last seen: Blue polo shirt, blue jacket, blue jeans, grey Puma trainers
  • Last seen: Between 8.30 and 9.30 am, 28 October, near Bristol Bus Station (confirmed by CCTV)
