Hammer Horror Rapist Jailed for 13 Years After Brutal East London Attack
Ryan Bruce Sentenced for Shocking Assault
Ryan Bruce, 26, with no fixed address, has been locked up for 13 years after admitting to two counts of rape. The chilling attack took place on the night of 13 March in east London, at a property Bruce was illegally using without the owner’s consent.
Victim Assaulted with Hammer Before Rape
Bruce lured a woman in her 30s to the vacant house around 11pm. After she bent down to remove her shoes, he smashed her head multiple times with a hammer, causing serious wounds needing stitches. Terrified, the victim thought it was a robbery and offered money. Instead, Bruce forced her to undress and raped her twice.
Rescue and Arrest
By fate, a relative of the homeowner returned and heard the victim crying. They called police and confronted Bruce, who brandished the hammer and shouted at them to leave. They wrestled the weapon away, but Bruce fled. Officers apprehended him nearby, finding the victim’s mobile on him during a search.
Justice Served
Detective Constable Michael Dixon said: “This was a horrific attack and I am glad Ryan Bruce has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term. The community is safer with him behind bars.”
Bruce was charged with two counts of rape, actual bodily harm, false imprisonment, and theft. He pleaded guilty at Wood Green Crown Court on 1 August and remains behind bars.
