Murder Charge Over Wembley Stabbing
A 26-year-old man has been charged with the murder of Shazad Khan, who was fatally stabbed in Wembley earlier this week.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that Zaher Zaarour, 26, from North Circular Road, was charged on Thursday, 21 August with murder and possession of a bladed article. He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 22 August.
Stabbing Incident in Monks Park
Police were called at 6:10pm on Tuesday, 19 August following reports of a stabbing in Monks Park, Wembley.
Shazad Khan, aged 41, was treated by paramedics at the scene but sadly died despite their efforts. His family has been informed and are receiving support from specially trained officers.
Woman Arrested and Later Released on Bail
A 31-year-old woman was arrested at the scene on suspicion of conspiracy to murder. She has since been released on bail and is expected to return in September pending further enquiries.
Police Statement and Ongoing Investigation
Detective Chief Inspector Paul Waller of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command said: “I would like to thank the community for their help and support during this investigation. Residents can expect to see an increased police presence in the area over the coming days.”
Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal stabbing as enquiries remain ongoing.
