Arson Probe Underway After Early Morning Flats Fire in Southampton

Police have launched an arson investigation following a blaze at flats on St Mary’s Street, Southampton. The fire broke out around 5am on Thursday 23 March, prompting a swift response from Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Residents Evacuated as Fire Extinguished

Residents were evacuated safely, while firefighters quickly brought the flames under control. Several people were treated for smoke inhalation at the scene, but thankfully no one required hospital care.

Police Urge Public to Come Forward

Officers are now teaming up with the Arson Task Force to uncover the cause of the fire. Anyone with information is urged to call 101 and quote reference 44170107941.
