Tragic Crash on Cornwall Road: One Dead, Two Injured After Car Hits Railway Bridge

Deadly Smash at 2.30am

Just after 2.30am on Sunday, 9 October 2022, a red Volkswagen Polo slammed into a railway bridge on Cornwall Road, heading towards Hamilton Road. The impact was fatal for a 21-year-old man from Aylesham, who was confirmed dead at the scene.

Injuries and Arrest Made

Two other men suffered serious injuries and were rushed to hospital. A woman involved also sustained minor injuries needing medical treatment.

Police swooped and arrested a 25-year-old man from Dover. He faces charges including causing death by dangerous driving, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, and possession of class A and B drugs. He has been bailed until 10 November 2022, with strict conditions.
