Terror Support Arrest Shakes N4 Protest
A protest near Green Lanes and Stanhope Gardens, N4, was slammed shut by police orders last night. The Metropolitan Police stepped in, enforcing strict dispersal rules under the Public Order Act and making one arrest.
Man Held Over Terrorist Support Chants
At around 7pm, cops snapped up a man suspected of backing a banned terrorist group. The arrest followed chanting heard during the protest. He’s still in custody as inquiries ramp up.
Police Crack Down with Protest Curfew
Concerned about public order, officers used Section 14 of the Public Order Act to call time on the event by 8pm. Protesters were warned to pack up or face arrest.
“Officers engaged with participants to explain the conditions, ensuring public safety and maintaining order,” said a Metropolitan Police spokesperson.
Protest Ends Without Further Trouble
The crowd dispersed peacefully by the deadline. Police pledged to keep a close eye on the area overnight and in the coming days to reassure locals.
