Two Arrested and Four Bikes Seized After Reckless Riding Spree on M11

Essex Police swooped after reports of dangerous riding near Newport on the M11, heading southbound towards Stansted Airport. Around a dozen motorbikes were seen hurtling at breakneck speeds, putting motorists at serious risk.

The drama unfolded just before 3:40pm on Saturday, April 5, when officers tracked the speeding group as they pulled into Birchanger Services. Two suspects were arrested on the spot, and four motorbikes were seized under anti-social driving laws.

Suspects in Custody and Bikes Impounded

  • A 35-year-old man from Enfield faces drug-driving accusations. He is currently released under investigation.
  • A second man was initially charged with a public order offence but later de-arrested.
  • Multiple riders received reports for various traffic offences.

“Our priority is to keep our roads safe. Reckless and dangerous riding poses a significant risk to other road users, and we will continue to take robust action against those who disregard road safety,” said an Essex Police spokesperson.
