Willesden on High Alert After ‘Honey Trap’ Stabbing and Chemical Threat Fears
A tense stand-off is unfolding in Willesden tonight after a man was stabbed and police scrambled over fears of a potential chemical threat inside a residential block near a local mosque.
‘Honey Trap’ Stabbing Sparks Police Lockdown
The drama began just after 7:30 PM when a man was reportedly stabbed in the hand after being lured into a flat in what police believe was a “honey trap” operation involving a young woman. Armed officers from the Metropolitan Police rushed to the scene, sealing off the area and imposing a strict cordon to protect nearby residents.
Suspect Barricaded as Special Units Mobilise
Sources say the woman involved has been arrested. Meanwhile, a suspect remains holed up inside a top-floor flat, refusing to come out. The situation escalated when police received chilling intelligence suggesting the presence of a dirty bomb or chemical device.
Elite CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear) specialists, alongside Guardian officers, were called in to sweep the property. Witnesses recall seeing officers in hazmat suits carrying Geiger counters, conducting thorough searches while urging residents to remain indoors or stay clear of the area.
Chaos Near Mosque as Emergency Crews Respond
A security guard from the nearby Central Mosque, speaking anonymously, said: “It was chaos. Armed officers everywhere, shouting commands, then they said there could be something radioactive. Everyone was told to move back. Some officers looked like they were being decontaminated.”
The London Fire Brigade and London Ambulance Service, including the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART), have been providing crucial support. So far, police have not confirmed any hazardous substances have been found.
Casualties and Police Update
The stabbing victim’s condition remains unknown. A Metropolitan Police source told UKNIP: “Officers remain at the scene of a serious incident in Willesden. Specialist units have been deployed as a precaution due to information received. One individual has been arrested. A further suspect remains contained. The public is advised to avoid the area.”
Nearby residents have been told not to return to their homes until the all-clear is given.
A London Ambulance Service spokesman said:
“We were called at 9:02pm today (25 June) to reports of a stabbing on Walm Lane, NW2. We sent a number of resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, an incident response officer, a clinical team manager and paramedics from our tactical response unit. We also dispatched trauma teams in cars from London’s Air Ambulance. We treated four people in total. We took two patients to a major trauma centre and another to a local hospital. The fourth person declined further treatment.”
Police continue to investigate. The public is urged to steer clear of the Willesden area while the operation unfolds.
