Tommy Robinson’s Future at Belmarsh Prison in Doubt
Supporters of Tommy Robinson have revealed fresh updates on his grim situation at Belmarsh high-security prison. The controversial figure is serving an 18-month sentence for contempt of court and is currently held in a segregated wing — the same block where he served part of a previous sentence.
Possible Move Sparks Security Fears
The prison governor has reportedly warned Robinson he may soon be shuffled either to the general prison population or to a more isolated cell “down the block.”
His supporters are sounding the alarm. “Moving him into the main prison system would pose a major risk,” a spokesperson said, pointing to the danger of placing Robinson alongside inmates convicted of violent extremism.
The alternative — a basic cell “down the block” — sounds bleak. It reportedly lacks even a bed or television and could leave Robinson vulnerable due to easier inmate access.
Family Visits to Become Closed and Behind Screens
Supporters also blasted the harsh new visitation rules. They claim Robinson will be restricted to closed visits with his family, conducted behind a screen. This move is branded as “disproportionate” given the nature of his charges.
Belmarsh officials have stayed tight-lipped on the issue, offering no comment or timeline for any potential changes to Robinson’s location or conditions.
