Police have launched an urgent appeal after a pedestrian suffered serious injuries when struck by a car in East Ham late on Friday night.
Crunch Collision Closes Major East Ham Road
The crash happened around 11:20pm on June 19 at the busy junction of Tilbury Road and High Street South in East Ham. The collision scene triggered a full investigation, leaving High Street South closed to traffic for hours.
Driver Stopped to Help, Emergency Teams Rush In
The driver involved stopped immediately and provided assistance at the scene. Paramedics and specialist HART teams from London Ambulance Service responded, supported by doctors from the London Air Ambulance.
Police Hunting Key Witnesses, Including Bus Driver
The Met’s Roads Policing unit is appealing for any witnesses to come forward. They are especially keen to speak to a bus driver who was behind a white car just before the collision.
A Met spokesperson said: “Can you help our collision investigation team? We urgently need witnesses to the collision on High Street South that seriously injured a pedestrian. The driver stopped and assisted, but we need more information.”
