Wife’s Heartbreaking Plea in Hunt for Michael Freshwater’s Killer
Jenny Downey, partner of murdered Michael “Micky” Freshwater, has opened up about her devastating loss and begged the public for any information. Michael’s body was discovered at a Westridge Road home around 4.15pm on Friday, April 29.
£10,000 Reward in Murder Mystery
Hampshire Constabulary’s Major Crime Team immediately launched a murder probe. The charity Crimestoppers has since put up a £10,000 reward for info leading to justice.
‘Taken Away So Cruelly’
More than three weeks on, Jenny tearfully described how Micky was “taken away so cruelly” and how she “just wants him back.” She said:
“Micky is already sorely missed by so many people. My phone has not stopped ringing. So many have sent condolences, struggling to believe he’s gone. His friends called him a wonderful man, a true gentleman.”
Jenny added:
“He lit up their lives and always found joy helping others. Micky was selfless, volunteering to bring smiles to others without expecting anything back. I can’t believe we’ve lost him.”
Lost Without My Perfect Gentleman
Speaking about life without Micky, Jenny said:
“I miss his infectious laugh that made everyone smile. He was popular in our community, always chatting with neighbours and planting flowers in the garden he loved.”
She revealed the future plans now shattered by tragedy:
“We had so much planned this summer — family holidays, home decorating, trips to Bournemouth beach. He was my rock, my best friend, my everything.”
Jenny’s heartbreak is raw:
“I feel lost and broken. Nothing makes sense. My perfect gentleman, my Micky — I just want justice for this cruel act and the truth about what happened.”
