Paedophile Barry Thrower Jailed for Sexually Abusing Under-13 Girl
Barry Thrower, 37, has been locked up for six years after sexually abusing a girl under 13 in Huntingdon last October. The evil predator also forced the child to take part in sexual acts and made her swear to secrecy with a “pinky promise.”
Quick Justice in Peterborough Court
The youngster bravely told someone close the next day, who alerted police. Thrower, from King Street, Desborough near Kettering, denied the charges at police interview but was found guilty at Peterborough Crown Court in May. Jurors took just over three hours to convict him on two counts of assault and two counts of causing a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity.
Sentenced and Slapped With Indefinite Order
Thrower was sentenced last Friday (13 September) to six years in prison. He was also slapped with an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life. This ensures he’s closely monitored to prevent any future offending.
Police Chief Vows to Protect Children
“Thrower’s sexual abuse had a huge impact on his victim,” said Detective Constable Les Ellmer. “We hope she can now find closure. Regardless of when these crimes happen, we take every report seriously. Protecting young people is our top priority.”
Specially trained officers are on hand to support victims and bring offenders like Thrower to justice.
