Retired Man Jailed for Savage Knife Attack on Woman
Kenneth Noble, 69, from Beehive Lane, Ferring, has been locked up for 16 years. The retired man admitted to stabbing a 64-year-old woman he knew in a shocking attack on September 27 last year.
Shocking Knife Attack Stopped by Brave Electricians
The violent assault happened inside the victim’s flat, with no danger to the wider community. Detective Constable Kat Wilkins revealed the woman suffered three knife wounds to her neck and defensive injuries on her hands. She was rushed to hospital in critical condition but has thankfully recovered.
The attack was unprovoked. Thankfully, a neighbour heard her screams and called for help. Two electricians nearby charged in, tackled Noble, disarmed him, and held him down with cable ties until police arrived.
Heroes Awarded for Courageous Act
Both electricians will receive a £500 High Sheriff’s Award for their brave actions. Judge Christine Laing praised their “conspicuous bravery” in confronting a knife-wielding attacker.
“When confronted with a man armed with a knife attacking his wife, each instinctively ran towards the attacker. It’s only right that the court, the High Sheriff, and West Sussex publicly recognise their heroism,” said Judge Laing.
They are set to be honoured at an upcoming public award ceremony. Meanwhile, Noble has also been slapped with a lifelong restraining order, banning any contact with his victim.
