Brutal Thug Jailed for Terrorising Girlfriend with Metal Pliers

A vicious thug who tried to rip his girlfriend’s teeth out with metal pliers and threatened to drill out her eye has been locked up for four years.

Horror Abuse with Mole Grips and Death Threats

Jack Robson, 21, from Leadgate, County Durham, subjected his partner to a nightmare of abuse. Using a pair of mole grips, he tried to yank her teeth out. He even forced her to pick the drill he vowed to use to gouge out her eye.

That’s not all. Robson repeatedly punched, kicked, and bit the victim, knocking her unconscious more than once. He held her captive, threatening to kill her, her family, or even her pets if she tried to escape. He controlled her every move and penny, making her delete all social media and spying on her texts.

Victim’s Bravery Leads to Justice

The terrified victim finally got medical help after the pliers attack on May 17 and bravely reported the ordeal to police. Durham Constabulary’s safeguarding team backed her through the ordeal.

Robson was arrested and hit with charges including intentional strangulation and grievous bodily harm with intent. At Durham Crown Court, he was sentenced to four years in prison and slapped with a restraining order.

Police Praise Victim’s Strength, Urge Others to Speak Out

“The courage and strength shown by the woman has been truly commendable—her support for our investigation has resulted in Robson being put behind bars,” said Investigative Officer Ashley Marsden. “The sentence won’t erase her pain, but I hope it helps her move forward.”

Ms Marsden urged anyone suffering abuse to come forward, assuring they will be heard and supported every step of the way.

Durham Constabulary can be contacted on 101 or 999 in an emergency. Additional help is available through The Meadows Sexual Assault Referral Centre and charity Harbour.
