Huge Fire Tears Through East Ham Home

Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters rushed to tackle a fierce blaze on Benson Avenue in East Ham this morning.

First Floor and Loft Devastated

The fire shredded part of the first floor and the loft of a mid-terraced house. London Fire Brigade got the call at 8:31am and swiftly dispatched crews from Stratford, Poplar, Plaistow, East Ham, and Barking stations.

Brave firefighters wrestled the flames into submission by 11:08am, preventing the fire from spreading further.

Investigation Underway, No Injuries

The cause of the fire is still a mystery and currently under investigation. Thankfully, no one was hurt in the blaze. Fire crews are staying on-site to make sure the area is safe.

A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: “Our teams responded quickly to contain the fire and limit the damage. An investigation into the cause is ongoing.”
