Police Car Crash Sparks Chaos on Brixton Hill
A police car smashed into another vehicle on a busy South London road this morning, triggering major disruption and the closure of Brixton Hill. The crash happened at 7:34am on Friday, August 9, between Dumbarton Road and Elm Park.
Major Road Closure Hits Morning Commute
Brixton Hill, a key route connecting Brixton to Streatham, was shut down following the crash. The closure snarled traffic and forced diversions on eight London bus routes, including the 45, 59, 109, 118, 133, 159, 250, and 333.
Three Treated for Minor Injuries
Metropolitan Police confirmed officers, London Ambulance Service, and firefighters rushed to the scene. Three people suffered minor injuries and were treated on-site. Thankfully, no serious injuries were reported, and all are expected to make a full recovery.
Investigation Underway as Traffic Slowly Recovers
Police are investigating how the collision occurred and whether any further action will be taken. Brixton Hill has now reopened, but traffic delays persist as the morning rush struggles to get back to normal.
