On April 2, 2023, reports poured in about a gang smashing through Queens Road, Brighton, randomly attacking innocent people. Alone on patrol, Sgt Barrett spotted the mayhem and raced in to confront the thugs.
Brutal Attack, Unbreakable Courage
Outnumbered and facing extreme danger, Barrett wrestled one attacker to the ground. In the heat of the fight, he was savagely assaulted by another gang member, suffering a fractured eye socket and a serious arm injury. Yet, he refused to let go, holding firm until backup arrived.
