Blaze Rips Through Barking Flat as Eight Fire Engines Battle Flames

Chaos hit Station Parade in Barking tonight as a fire tore through a shop with a flat above. Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters rushed to the scene.

Half of First-Floor Flat Destroyed

The fierce blaze gutted half of the first-floor flat, leaving a trail of destruction. Miraculously, no injuries have been reported.

“Crews worked extremely hard in hot, arduous conditions to extinguish the fire,” said Station Commander Paul Green at the scene.

The fire brigade was alerted at 7:09pm and had the flames under control by 8pm. Firefighters from Stratford, Barking, Plaistow, Dagenham, Millwall, and East Greenwich all pitched in.

Cause of Fire Under Investigation

Officials are now probing the origin of the blaze as the community counts its lucky stars no one was hurt.
