M20 Night Closures Hit Kent Roads

The M20 coastbound between junctions 7 and 9 will be closed every night from 8pm on 2 December until 6am on 11 December. On Sunday 11 December, the closure will last all day and night, reopening at 6am on Monday 12 December.

London-Bound M20 Also Shut

Expect closures on the London-bound M20 between junctions 9 and 8 from 9pm on Thursday 8 December to 6am on Friday 9 December. It will close again from 9pm Sunday 11 December until 6am Monday 12 December.

Operation Brock Deployment and Roadworks Explained

These closures complete resurfacing work and prepare for the deployment of Operation Brock contraflow, which kicks in once the M20 reopens on 12 December.

Meanwhile, the coastbound slip roads at M2 junction 5 remain shut. There are also weekend closures on the A249 north of Stockbury roundabout for essential drainage work.

  • A2 Hall Road Junction Resurfacing:
    • Sunday 4 December: London-bound A2 closed 8pm–4am
    • Sunday 18 December: Coastbound A2 closed 10pm–6am

    Signed diversions in place: Coastbound via A2260, Thames Way, A226, A227, and Wrotham Road; reverse for London-bound.

  • A2 Bean & Ebbsfleet:
    • Coastbound exit at Bean junction closed overnight Monday 5 to Friday 9 December. Use Ebbsfleet junction and return London-bound.
    • Coastbound entry at Bean junction closed overnight Monday 5 December. Use Bean Lane & A296 Watling Street to join A2.
  • A2070 Hamstreet Overnight Closures: Closed 8pm–6am on 12, 13, and 14 December between Ashford Road and Johnson’s Corner.

Diversions for A2070 closures guide traffic via A2070, A259, A261, A20, and M20. Non-motorway traffic should use A20.
