Massive Warehouse Blaze Ravages Andover Industrial Estate
Firefighters battled a huge blaze at a two-storey warehouse on Andover’s Walworth Industrial Estate, which housed a furniture and paint shop. The building was completely destroyed, but thankfully, no one was hurt.
Hundreds of Firefighters Race to Tackle Inferno
The alarm was raised shortly after 10 a.m. when dozens of frantic calls flooded the Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service Control Room. Around 100 firefighters from Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire, and Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Services scrambled to the scene to fight the flames.
Emergency Services Still Battling After Hours
Although the fire has now been put out, a large number of emergency vehicles remain on site. Walworth Road is still closed as crews continue operations. Relief teams from Totton, Ringwood, Romsey, Cosham, Overton, Beaulieu, Tadley, and Yateley have taken over to aid in cleanup and ensure safety.
Heavy Equipment and Environmental Units Deployed
The response included aerial ladder platforms, water carriers, and environmental protection units working tirelessly to limit damage and prevent pollution amidst the chaos.
Emergency services from across the region – including Andover, Whitchurch, Winchester, Basingstoke, Eastleigh, St Mary’s, Brockenhurst, Bishop’s Waltham, Hartley Wintney, Sutton Scotney, Hamble, Rushmoor, Dorset, and Wiltshire – joined the effort in a massive, coordinated response.
