Six fire crews from Warwickshire and the West Midlands battled a massive blaze at a disused hotel in Hockley Heath on Wednesday night.

Fire Ravages Former Hockley Heath Hotel

The former hotel on Aylesbury Road went up in flames just before 10pm, prompting a huge emergency response.

Warwickshire Fire and Rescue sent engines from Coleshill, Stratford, and Alcester, with backup from West Midlands fire stations. By 10.30pm, crews were fully engaged, but the fire still blazed fiercely well past 3am.

70% of Building Destroyed, One Injured

The fire caused severe damage to around 70% of the building’s structure. One person was injured during the incident, though details remain scarce.

Efforts to fight the flames were made tougher by large trees blocking an aerial ladder unit. Falling roof tiles and debris added to the challenges on scene.

Cause of Fire Under Investigation

Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service has launched an investigation into the cause of the blaze. Fire investigators are expected to arrive at first light to assess the wreckage.
