Knife Terror in Edmonton: Four Stabbings Spark Massive Police Hunt
Detectives have launched a frantic manhunt after a spate of stabbings rocked Edmonton, North London. The chilling attacks unfolded over one night and left several victims fighting for their lives.
Single Suspect on the Loose
Police are hunting a lone male attacker. Described as a black man, around 6ft 3in tall with a skinny frame, he was seen wearing dark clothing—possibly a hooded top. Authorities say he targets lone, vulnerable pedestrians, launching surprise attacks from behind.
Extra officers are now flooding the streets, scouring the area with CCTV and patrols to stop this dangerous individual. The suspect’s photo will be released as soon as it’s available.
Four Victims, Random Targets
- Saturday, 7.12pm: A 45-year-old woman stabbed in the back on Aberdeen Road, N18. She remains in critical condition in hospital.
- Sunday, 12.15am: A man stabbed in Park Avenue, N18. His injuries are serious but not life-threatening.
- Sunday, 3.55am: A 23-year-old stabbed near Seven Sisters Tube. He is stable but in hospital. Injuries may have been inflicted in Silver Street.
- Sunday, 9.43am: Man found with stab wounds on Brettenham Road, N18. Injuries not life-threatening but could be life-changing.
Police Warn Public: Stay Alert, Don’t Approach
Detective Acting Chief Inspector Stuart Smillie said: “We believe all four attacks are connected. Victims come from different backgrounds and appear to have been randomly targeted simply for being alone.”
“There’s no indication these incidents are terror-related. The suspect is likely acting alone, and mental health may be a factor. We urge anyone who spots someone matching his description acting suspiciously to call 999 immediately. Do not approach.”
One man was arrested on suspicion of GBH at Fore Street, N9, shortly after the incidents, but enquiries continue to confirm if he’s the attacker.
