Detectives from the Met’s elite Flying Squad have charged a 52-year-old woman linked to a high-profile diamond theft in Mayfair six years ago.
Georgeta Danila Extradited and Charged
Georgeta Danila was flown back to the UK from France on Monday, 6 July. The very next day, she faced charges of conspiracy to steal relating to the 2016 burglary.
Court Appearances and Next Steps
- Danila appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court on 7 July.
- She was remanded to Southwark Crown Court, with her next hearing set for 4 August.
Notorious New Bond Street Heist
The alleged crime took place on 10 March 2016 at a jewellery shop on New Bond Street, W1. Two men have already been convicted of conspiracy to steal in the ongoing investigation.
