Jane Bateman Caught with Cocaine and Cannabis
Jane Bateman, 30, from Clervaux Court, Bradford, was busted for possession with intent to supply cannabis and cocaine. After a full investigation, Bateman pleaded guilty to cannabis possession with intent to supply but denied dealing cocaine.
Armed Confrontation During Police Raid
On 20 December 2018, officers executed a search warrant at Bateman’s Clayton home. She was aggressive, threatening police with a knife. Officers arrested her on the spot and uncovered a large stash of cocaine.
Five Years Behind Bars
Following a trial, Bateman was found guilty of possessing cocaine with intent to supply. On 9 December, Bradford Crown Court sentenced her to five years for Class A drug supply, plus 18 months for Class B.
Police Praise Community Intelligence
Detective Chief Inspector Andy Farrell said: “We welcome the sentence handed down to Bateman today. Officers acted on vital intelligence from the community, executed a search warrant, and seized a large amount of Class A drugs.”
Farrell added: “Illegal drug supply fuels crime and damages communities. We remain committed to working with partner agencies to keep Bradford safe from serious criminals.”
