Brutal Assault Leaves 18-Year-Old Seriously Injured

Conor Hinchcliffe, Zain Hussain, and Ateeq Rashid have been slammed with hefty prison sentences for a savage kidnapping and stabbing. The horrific attack happened on Clough Lane, Earlsheaton, back on 11 December 2018.

Police were first called for a stabbing report, but their investigation uncovered a chilling truth. The young victim was kidnapped, driven around, and subjected to a prolonged, violent knife assault that caused severe injuries.

Prison Terms Handed Down at Leeds Crown Court

  • Conor Hinchcliffe, 23, of Batley, got 13 years behind bars.
  • Zain Hussain, 21, from Dewsbury, received 9 years in prison.
  • Ateeq Rashid, 20, of Batley, was sentenced to 6.5 years.

Police Hit Out at “Seriously Violent Attack”

Sergeant Ian Carruthers said: “This was a seriously violent attack and I hope the sentences handed down bring some comfort and closure to the victim. Violent offences will not be tolerated in our communities, and those responsible can expect significant custodial sentences.”

This crackdown sends a clear message: violent crime means jail time. The courts are cracking down hard to keep communities safe.
