Girl Abducted and Assaulted in Droylsden Woods
Greater Manchester Police were called to a chilling incident in Droylsden at around 4 p.m. A young girl was reportedly taken from Warne Road into a nearby wooded area. Officers believe she was forced into a van, assaulted, then left in the woods before finding her own way to a local park.
Man Arrested, Hunt for Second Suspect Underway
A 35-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday evening on suspicion of abduction and sexual assault. He remains in custody for questioning. However, detectives are keeping all options open. A search is ongoing for a second man spotted acting suspiciously near the scene at the time.
Police Release Images of Man They Want to Speak To
Detectives have released two images of a man they urgently want to question about the attack. The first photo was snapped just moments after the abduction. The second was taken about 30 minutes later on Gainsborough Road, where the man appears to have his jacket tied around his waist.
Police are urging anyone who recognises the man to call 999 immediately.
