Richard Thomas, 41, from Ffordd Powell, Caego, has been sentenced to over six years behind bars for a horrific assault on his partner.

Violent Attacks Left Victim with Serious Injuries

The Mold Crown Court heard how Thomas committed multiple offences in Wrexham last October. He admitted to three counts of assault causing actual bodily harm, inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent, and intentional strangulation. The victim escaped after enduring weeks of savage abuse. She suffered significant facial injuries, bruises all over her body from punches and kicks, and a burn mark believed to be from a hot kettle. Horrifyingly, bruising on her neck showed where Thomas had strangled her.

Judge Hands Down Tough Sentence & Lifetime Ban

Thomas was remanded in custody pending sentencing. On Thursday, 16 April, he was jailed for six years and three months. A strict indefinite Domestic Abuse Protection Order (DAPO) was also imposed, banning him from contacting the victim for life.
