Teen Pleads Guilty to Murder in Mistaken Identity Stabbing

A teenage boy, whose name is withheld for legal reasons, has admitted murdering 27-year-old Mr Ali-Khani at Preston Crown Court on Wednesday, November 9. He also pleaded guilty to possessing a bladed article.

Stabbing on Raikes Road Ends in Tragedy

Police were called at around 6.25pm on July 8 after reports of an assault on Raikes Road. Emergency crews found Mr Ali-Khani with stab wounds to his chest. He was rushed to Royal Preston Hospital but sadly died from his injuries, confirmed by a post-mortem examination.

Mistaken Identity Led to Fatal Attack

Investigations revealed Mr Ali-Khani was waiting in his blue car when the attacker approached. During the confrontation, the teen stabbed him in the leg and chest, causing him to collapse on the street.

Detectives believe the teen intended to target another man sitting in a nearby car, making this a tragic case of mistaken identity.

Sentencing Set for November

The boy was charged with murder following his arrest and will be sentenced on November 29 at Preston Crown Court.
