Massive Cannabis Farm Busted in Nottingham

Nottingham police struck gold after a tip-off from the public led to a major drug raid on a Mansfield Road property in Arboretum. Officers uncovered over 400 cannabis plants spread across every floor, including the loft and basement.

Two Men Arrested After Raid

The raid took place at around 10.30am on Tuesday, 4 July. Inside the flat, two men were caught red-handed and arrested on suspicion of cannabis production. One officer suffered minor injuries after being struck in the face while detaining a suspect.

Charged and Remanded in Custody

  • 37-year-old Fatjon Ailu, from Mansfield Road, faces charges of producing a Class B drug and assaulting an emergency worker.
  • 32-year-old Enkeled Tabaku, of North Sherwood Street, charged with producing a Class B drug.

Both appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 5 July, and were remanded in custody. Their next hearing is scheduled for 2 August at Nottingham Crown Court.

Police Praise Public’s Role in Bust

“We are thankful to members of the public for the vital intelligence they have provided about this cannabis grow,” said Police Constable Emily Hart, Nottinghamshire Police.

“It has allowed us to execute a warrant at the property, put a large drug factory out of use and place two suspects before the courts.”
