Police were called to Thumpers around 8 p.m. on Wednesday (1 February) after receiving reports of a man trapped under his vehicle. Fire and rescue, as well as ambulance services, were dispatched.
Despite emergency personnel’s best efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Specially trained officers are assisting his family.
A 30-year-old Hemel Hempstead resident has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter. He is still being held by police at this time.
“This was a tragic incident, and our thoughts are with the victim’s family at this difficult time,” said Detective Sergeant John Prendergast, who is leading the investigation. “We respectfully request that their privacy be respected.” We have already conducted extensive investigations, but we would like to appeal to anyone who may have information that has not yet been shared with us to please contact us. I’m especially interested in hearing from anyone who may have seen a man on a bicycle in the area around the time specified.
“Any information, no matter how minor or insignificant, could be critical to moving our investigation forward.”
